Grading your driveway is one of the first steps to installing your driveway (the same can be said for parking lots). There are a couple reasons for grading that include: 1. Water management: If your driveway holds or pools water then it can seep into your driveway which can erode away materials underneath and your driveway can collapse in on itself. This water can also freeze which will cause cracks in your pavement or concrete. This damages the material and also gives grass and other plants (weeds) a place to call home and cause more havoc. 2. Protecting your vehicles: If a driveway is not graded correctly and it angles or pitches too high it could hit the undercarriage of your vehicle and cause some serious damage to your car or truck. This will also damage your driveway as well which will dramatically decrease the useful life you will get out of it (which means you are going to be paying to replace it sooner that you should). Here at Seattle WA Paving we ensure your driveway is graded correctly for both water management and vehicle protection. We also own our own equipment so we can give you the best price and best turn around time EVERY TIME.
