The first 1.5 to 2 inches of pavement will be ground up or sliced off the old parking lot’s surface to level the surface and any subbase problems will be fixed. Then after the parking lot is cleaned a tack coat (adhesive) will be laid down to improve bonding with the new layers of asphalt. Finally, the 1.5 to 2 inch of a new top asphalt layer will be laid down on the pavement.
The resurfaced parking lot can be marked or striped as soon as the pavement cools otherwise you could damage the pavement with the striping machines.
